1984 Nannu Brochure Text: In the glorious setting of the Snowdonia National Park is the elegant Georgian mansion of Nannau. From almost any point one looks out over fold upon fold of green and purple hills, offering a breathtaking panorama of the seasons. At Easter the grounds are aglow with carpets of daffodils and in June bright with the summer beauty of azaleas and rhododendrons - the blazing colours of autumn rivalled by the shimmering snow-capped peaks of winter - indeed one could enjoy a holiday in this beautiful area at any time of year.
It is particularly ideal for children where they can play in privacy and safety as Nannau Hall stands in twelve acres of parkland surrounded by farmland and woodlands which are often frequented by the deer.

Dolgellau is a charming old market town some two miles from Nannau, sheltered beneath the great bulk of Cader Idris. There is pony-trekking and golf nearby. You will also have the opportunity to explore castles, slate caverns and gold mines. If you wish to visit the coast, Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey are all within easy reach by car.

Through magnificent countryside the “Great Little Trains of Wales” offer many excursions.

There are many beautiful walks surrounding Nannau including the original “Precipice Walk”, a man-hewn path cut round the sides of Moel Cynwych which provides amazing views over the Ganllwyd Valley and Mawddach Estuary with the river 800 feet below. Nearby is another worthwhile scenic walk the “Torrent Walk” up the River Clywedog.

Many lakes and rivers are available for fishing.

All suites, which are very spacious, are furnished and equipped to a very high standard, fully carpeted, with Colour T.V., fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker and refrigerator. Bed linen is provided. High chairs and cots are available for hire. There is ample parking space. To acknowledge the standards achieved the Welsh Tourist Board have presented Nannau with its special Award for self-catering accommodation.
